    Establishment & Maintenance

Adequate seedbed preparation is paramount to new turfgrass establishment, as well as, overseeding existing sites.  Adjust soil pH (if necessary) and then apply a "starter" fertilizer prior to seeding.

Seed at the suggested rate.  GCI turf-type fescue/hybrid bluegrass blend germinates when soil temperatures are between 60 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit.  For best results, ensure good seed to soil contact during the seeding process.  It is necessary to provide light and frequent irrigation for optimum germination.  Under sufficient soil temperature and soil moisture, germination should be complete in three to four weeks.  New seedlings require eight to twelve months to depict mature growth characteristics.

Maintain a sharp mower blade to prevent tearing of young, tender leaves.  Under normal situations, a cutting height between 2.5" and 4.0" is recommended.

GCI Premium Fescue/Bluegrass Mixture responds well to three to four pounds of actual nitrogen per thousand square feet, on an annual basis.
